Walnut Canyon

We went on a hike through Walnut Canyon, AZ and got to see where some of the cliff dwelling native Americans used to live. In the picture below you can barely make out a few holes in the lava rock overhangs that were converted into rooms.


Here's Tara and Zade in front of one of the rooms, where you can see the black ceilings that resulted from them cooking inside.


These rooms were right next to each other and would go on and on along the cliffs. In some places (not pictured), there are some intact walls that go all the way to the ceiling, allowing no light inside.


It was a pretty hot day, but we all had fun. I'm also grateful that I don't live in the cliffs. :)
