November 2019

Grandma D's 70th Birthday
Tara and her siblings flew out to Utah and surprised her mom for her 70th birthday.

Nutcracker
Aria and her friend Alicia were the "Candy Girls" in All That Dance's version of the Nutcracker.

Aria's guinea pigs

UO Cheerleader
Many years ago we took a picture of Aria dressed up as a cheerleader for Oregon.  Finally, after much pleading, we were able to get Nova to wear the same outfit.  She looks great!

Turkey Trot
Aria and Zade said they wanted to join Tara and I in running the turkey trot this year.  To keep the distance manageable for them, we all ran the 2 mile race.  They both did very well.

Zade was particularly pleased with her performance, as shown below.

Frozen 2
For Thanksgiving this year we volunteered to help out at the Eugene Mission.  We served food to the homeless, and afterwards we took the kids to see Frozen 2.

Festival of Trees
Tara took the kids to see the festival of trees at Valley River.  In addition to seeing a bunch of beautiful decorated trees, the kids really liked the decorated gingerbread houses.  They inspired the kids to build their own.

Here are the cool houses the kids made.

Christmas Tree
Here's the lovely tree we picked out for this Christmas.

October 2019

Ryzen lost his first teeth

The mighty baker

Fall Soccer
Both Ryzen and Zade's soccer teams were coached by the Whitings.  They had a great season, and improved a lot.  They also both scored goals in multiple games, which they were very happy about.

Annual Accounting Circle Football Game
Hanging out with Daniel Bayley, who graduated with me from the MAcc nearly 15 years ago.

Cousin Time

Aria hanging with her friends

Beautiful Fall Days

The haul from the Pumpkin Patch

Family Bike Ride along the Willamette

Mischievous Ducks
Naughty Lomet sneaking into the garage

And onto the back porch, where they like to relieve themselves... much to Tara's chagrin.
But they're still so cute!

Fun with the leaves

Haunted Corn Maze

Giant Sequoia Seedlings from the city of Eugene
As part of the 2021 initiative, we were able to get roughly 50 seedlings to plant in our yard for free.  I'm really excited.  I'd love to have more of a forest for a yard.  This is obviously a long term project, but I'm happy to be able to pursue it.

Apple Tree
In the front of our yard there's an apple tree that we really haven't paid much attention to, and it apparently has a ton of little apples we were able to harvest.  It was a pleasant surprise.

With the kids help, Tara turned the apples into apple butter, which they all enjoyed.

Jack-o-Lanterns

Trunk or Treatin' at the Church

Then off to the Business school a few days later for more candy.

And then into the neighborhoods with the Yorgesens, Whitings, and Hallocks for even more fun.
