January 2020

Hiking Mt. Piscah

Garage Doors
The prior owners of our house apparently allowed feral cats to go inside the garage.  They apparently urinated all over and it caused one of garage doors to completely corrode and fall apart.  Super nasty. So we had to replace them.  At least the new doors look nice.

We also picked up some new chairs.

The weather in January was pretty nice.  Had some beautiful days, and the temperature even got above 60 degrees Fahrenheit.

Basketball
Zade is playing basketball with the YMCA.  He's warming up to this relatively new sport for him.

Ryzen on the other hand bailed on basketball and demanded to take swimming lessons instead.

Nova is a pretty princess.

Mommy Day
Ryzen wanted a mommy day with Tara, so she took him up to Hoodoo to go skiing.  At first he was nervous skiing, but became fairly comfortable by the end.

Tea with Tights
My mom came to watch Aria perform at a fundraiser for Aria's dance team.

Roaming Ducks
During the winter we no longer put the ducks back in their pen at night because they wander off into the pond and we (and coyotes) can't get to them.  As a result, Brownie now is laying her eggs in random places in the yard.  We found her nest and were pleased to see over a dozen eggs.

In fact, Lomet was seduced by the wetlands and flew over there to hang out.  We saw her on one of our walks.  She does however fly back to our yard from time to time.  I can't blame her for wanting to swim in the big pond.

Ryzen and Nova recently have become very good friends.   They love playing pretend.  Here they pretended Nova's dolls were bats hanging upside down in a cave.

Handsome little fella
Ryzen also has started to strike a pose from time to time.  Silly little guy.

Grandpa C's 69th
We celebrated my dad's latest trip around the sun by going out to dinner at Texas Roadhouse.  It was fun catching up.

Leprechaun Village
Ryzen recently designed a mansion for leprechauns.  He loves to build with blocks.

Spencer's Butte
Tara and the kids with the Yaedes and Yorgesens on a hike up Spencer's butte.  The weather was perfect and they all had a nice time.  Nova didn't even complain.

Aria's solo costume
Aria really likes the costume she'll be wearing in her dance solo.  Her teacher this year has been Sarah Beth.

Riley's Baptism
Riley asked Aria to sing at her baptism.  Tara joined her for moral support.

It was the fanciest baptism we've seen.
