New Hair Color
I have a thing about my hair....I'm never quite satisfied with it. I'm always wondering, thinking....there must be something cuter that I can do with it! I mean think about it, the possibilties for hair are endless! You could go short and pixie, long and flowy, brunette, blonde, highlighted, permed, etc. etc. etc. Well, I'm the kind of person who likes a little variety and the highlights were so last month, not to mention a costly quarterly expense. Thus, I've gone brunette, supposedly my natural color, as the stylist did try to match the color with my roots. I think I like it. I'll keep it for at least a couple of months. :)

Strawberry Festival
On Saturday Dane and I went to a u-pick strawberry farm in hopes of gathering lots of berries for strawberry jam. Unfortnately, most of the berries weren't ripe so it became more of a treasure hunt rather than just a u-pick. We managed to find a few berries. We also picked up some fresh lettuce and red peppers. On the way back I managed to talk Dane into stopping for dinner. He said we could stop as long as it was our "eating out" for the month. I agreed, but upon arrival at McMennamins, Dane informed me that he wouldn't be eating. I told him that this couldn't count as our "eating out" for the month if he was just going to watch me eat. Still, no matter how I tried I couldn't get Dane to budge, so I thoroughly enjoyed a lovely turkey sandwich with cranberry sauce and Dane watched. Afterwards he went home and had leftover lasagna.

Shara's boyfriend Steven
Aria's 2 month checkup
Aria had her two month checkup yesterday. She is now 22 1/4 inches long and weighs 11 lbs. The doctor said she appears to be "thriving." Aria also had her vaccinations which made her quite unhappy all evening long. It made me sad to see our calm baby so fussy and upset. The only thing that would calm her was to be swaddled tight in her blanket and held all evening. She is now entering the "cooing" stage and there's even a sweet smile every once in awhile.
Dane's Birthday
Dane turned 29 on June 10th. Wow! Only one more year 'till the big 30! I kept asking him what he wanted to do for his birthday, but nothing sounded fun to him. Finally I suggested we borrow guitar hero from one of the young men in our ward, and Dane thought that sounded fun. If it's somehow related to music, there's a good chance Dane will be interested. On Monday, my sister Sharalee and I decorated the house and made Dane his favorite foods for dinner. (lasanga and watermelon) We also made a lemon cake with strawberry jello poured over it and covered in fresh fruit. (Dane loves desserts that involve fesh fruit.) I invited a couple of Dane's friends from church over to surprise him. Dane liked having the friends over, but he didn't like having to share guitar hero. :) Overall, it turned out to be a fun birthday party.

Bath time!
At first Aria hated bathtime! But now that I've purchased this new bathtub that cradles her in the water, she seems to be really enjoying it. This is a nice change because it's no fun to bathe a screaming baby. She always looks so cute and fragile after I've taken her out of the tub and wrapped her all up in the bath towel.
Shara comes to visit!
My wonderful sister Sharalee came to visit me and help me take of Aria. (and see her boyfriend, who lives in Canby) We've been having lots of fun together going to parks, shopping, talking, cooking and etc. Sharalee has even been helping feed Aria during the night, often taking the 2:00 or 3:00 A.M. shift. Dane is much appreciative, since he was the one getting up for that shift previously. I'm going to miss her when she goes back to Utah. She'll be leaving for Jerusalem for a study abroad with BYU in just a few weeks.
