 Modeling

Our kids and the Johnston's kids were at the park and Aria decided she wanted Tara to take some modeling shots of her.  

The other kids decided they too wanted to get in on the action. 

Round One

Aria loves singing karaoke with her friends. 

Beverly Beach

We went camping with the Yorgesen's at the beach. 

Everest is a great camping buddy.

Kari's daughters came with us, which made the trip more fun for Aria and Nova.  We watched them while Kari and Nate went to Vegas to celebrate their 20th anniversary. My mom & dad watched Dean.

We even found a bunch of baby crabs under rocks near the ocean. 

Nevertheless, similar to times past, Aria still demanded we head home a day earlier than we'd planned. 

Tara tookt he kids to Splash though, and they had a good time. 

We met back up with Kari & Nate and my parents at our house for dinner.

First Day of School

Due to the pandemic, we had Zade, Ryzen, and Nova attend Nature Discovery School last year so that they could do school in person.  Aria opted for home school.  This year, since the pandemic hopefully should be subsiding soon, we put all the kids back into public school. 

Nova started 1st grade at Twin Oaks.

Ryzen started 3rd grade there too.

Zade started middle school this year at Kennedy.  6th grade.

Aria started 8th grade.

Everest keeps the older kids company while they wait for the bus.  I take the younger kids to elementary.

Walking

Everest has taken several steps on his own, but prefers to hold onto things when he walks.   

I don't blame him.  Our hardwood floor is pretty unforgiving when he falls. 

The weather has been cooling down a little and the wild turkeys are back!

Library

Ryzen has really gotten into reading Diary of a Wimpy kids books.  Zade just finished reading the Lord of the Rings series.  In the evenings, I read the Percy Jackson books to them.  It's cool to see how into reading they've gotten.  

Soccer

Fall means the boys are back on the field.  They're both having fun.  Zade scored 2 goals in his last game, which he was really proud of.  Ryzen also scored a goal.  They're way better soccer players than their old man. :)

Aria got invited to participate in a photo shoot for dance.  Tara is a saint for taking her up to Portland to do that.  

We had my parent's over to celebrate my mom's birthday.  Nova had fun helping make the cake. 

Walks with Mom

Everest enjoys going on walks with Tara through the wetlands. 

Curlers

As a little girl, Aria never really let Tara do her hair.  Nova has been the same way, until this past month when she decided she wanted to have curly hair.  Tara has had a lot of fun getting to do her daughter's hair.  Nova digs it too, and frequently asks to have curlers put in. 

Lego Art

Zade decided he wanted to make some Lego art.  He decided to get a Star Wars kit and had fun putting together this ugly mug. 

Harvest Time

Nova loves hanging out with Ava.
